AA, D.R.A., Al-Anon
(Alcoholics
Anonymous, Drug Users Anonymous and Families of Users) meet twice weekly at the

Community Association, Newcastle.
Founded in 1979 as a non-profit organization, the objectives of the Association
are to provide members with up-to-date information regarding developments of
economic, environmental and social concern, and to take action as needed in
order to preserve the rural flavor, pride and safety of the community. NCA
has been instrumental in sponsoring Candidate Forums, co-sponsoring the annual
Newcastle Celebration Day, awarding scholarships to graduates from Del Oro and
Placer High Schools and generally keeping our community apprised of developments
affecting our lifestyle. Membership is open to those whose residence
and/or property has a Newcastle mailing address or to those who have or have had
a family member enrolled in Newcastle Elementary School. The NCA
Board of Directors meets on the first Monday of each month (except July, August
and December) at 7:00 p.m. at the Newcastle Elementary School. Mailing
address is P. O. Box 777, Newcastle, CA., 95658. Currently, Diane Ross
(663-4818) is the incumbent President.

Lion's Club
Newcastle
Golden Spike Lion's Club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30
p.m. in the Portuguese Hall on Taylor Road. President Alex Blanca is
serving for 2008/2009 - telephone 916-663-2179. Events include (but not limited to!) White Cane
Day, Halloween House, Flag Day @ schools, Easter Egg Hunt and Newcastle Clean-up
Day. The Newcastle Golden Spike Lion's Club contributes toward other
functions and fundraisers held within the community.
